Dermal fillers are approved for specific uses in people aged 22 and older. Those uses include: Correcting moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and skin folds. Increasing fullness of lips, cheeks, chin, under-eye hollows, jawline, and back of the hand.
Most patients experience minimal downtime with minor swelling, pain and redness at the treatment site.
In some cases, swelling may persist for a few days Results are immediately noticeable. Allow two weeks for optimal results.
-Stop taking blood thinning medications one day prior to treatment. Blood thinners may include Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, and Aspirin.
-Arnica tablets can be taken two days before appointment to reduce bruising.
-Avoid alcohol 24 hours before treatment.
-Please inform your treatment provider if you have a history of cold sores so that they can determine if you should be put on an antiviral medication prior to treatment.
-Please inform your treatment provider if you are pregnant or nursing. Dermal fillers have not been approved for women who are pregnant or nursing.
-Skin is cleansed.
-Topical anesthetic is applied to site of injection.
-Injections (a combination of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine) are made in predetermined areas.
-Avoid sun, alcohol, strenuous activity, and makeup application for 24 hours following the injection.
-Avoid touching or rubbing of the treated area.
-Do your best to sleep on your back and in an elevated position.
-Swelling, bruising, tightness, and minimal pain may occur.
