When you’re embarking on a new skincare regime or treatment expectations can be high but before starting it’s important to set realistic expectations about what the outcome could be. It takes time and effort to achieve and maintain the results you want.
Here are a couple of things to keep in mind as you begin your journey:
- Having Time/Patience
Have you ever heard someone say ‘trust the process?’ This is especially important at a medspa. In order to get your skin where you want it to be, it will be a process. You’re probably going to go through a lot of highs and lows, a lot of emotions, maybe even question your esthetician but one thing is for sure, your desired outcome will come. It might get worse before it gets better, but trust your esthetician, they’re licensed and extremely knowledgeable, so trust the process and have faith.
- Investment
Ask yourself this question: Does it bother you that much to invest in yourself? If the answer is yes, be prepared financially as some treatments could be more expensive than you anticipated. Now, that does not mean everything is expensive, consulting with your provider is always a best practice to really sit and talk about numbers.
- Eat Healthy/Hydrate
Remember what you’re putting in your body affects the outside. So as you’re working towards your results even after you achieve them keeping a healthy lifestyle and hydrating can help tremendously to maintain those results. Of course, along with anything else your esthetician suggests to you.
- Don’t Compare Yourself To Others
Everyone is different which means everyone’s journey will look different. What works for your friend might not work for you and that’s okay. The important thing is to trust your esthetician and the journey you are about to embark on. Understand that sometimes it’s just not one treatment and you are done, you may need a series to help treat the underlying issue.
Our job here at Skyn Lab is to guide you every step of the way and set realistic expectations with you. If you have any questions do not hesitate to get in touch with your provider, they’re always happy to help.
