Care Instructions
Skyn Lab Custom Facial
To help you achieve the best possible results, please follow these aftercare instructions carefully following your dermal filler treatment.
Safety & Side Effects
The Skyn Lab Custom Facial is a low-risk, well-tolerated treatment when performed by a trained clinician using appropriate products and techniques for your skin type.
Common reactions Mild redness or warmth immediately following treatment — particularly after dermaplaning or extractions — typically resolving within a few hours. Skin may feel temporarily sensitive post-extraction in areas of congestion.
Rare side effects Breakout activity in the days following extractions as congested material clears — a normal skin response, not a complication. Mild sensitivity or reactivity to active ingredients — rare when products are selected to match your skin type and condition.
Contraindications Active inflammatory acne or open lesions in the dermaplaning zone; highly sensitized or compromised skin barrier; active cold sore or skin infection; recent ablative laser treatment or chemical peel within the healing window; or use of prescription retinoids — inform your provider of all active topicals and recent procedures prior to treatment.
Disclosure required Inform your provider of all skincare products and prescriptions currently in use — particularly retinoids, acids, and prescription actives — recent in-clinic treatments, known skin sensitivities or allergies, and any changes to health or medications since your last visit.
The Skyn Lab Custom Facial is designed to leave skin in a better functional state than it arrived — improving clarity, hydration, and surface quality while supporting the skin’s long-term health between more intensive treatments. Results are immediate and progressive with regular sessions.
Typical Treatment Protocol
1. Skin assessment and consultation — your provider evaluates skin type, Fitzpatrick classification, current concerns, lifestyle factors, and any recent treatments to determine the most appropriate protocol for that session.
2. Cleanse and preparation — thorough double cleanse to remove surface debris, SPF, and makeup. Skin assessed under magnification where indicated.
3. Exfoliation — mechanical exfoliation via dermaplaning performed where appropriate; manual or enzyme exfoliation selected based on skin sensitivity and condition.
4. Extractions — manual extractions performed as indicated to clear congestion, comedones, and impacted follicles. Technique and area of focus tailored to presentation.
5. Treatment modalities applied — LED light therapy, targeted serums, masks, and facial massage layered in according to the protocol constructed for that session.
6. Completion and post-care — protective moisturizer and mineral SPF applied. Homecare recommendations and follow-up scheduling discussed.
Treatment duration typically 60–90 minutes depending on modalities selected. Frequency recommended every 4–6 weeks for ongoing skin maintenance, adjusted based on individual goals and treatment history.
